Thanksgiving is a holiday centered around family and food and tradition.
People eat different types of food for Thanksgiving and one of our SBHS students, Lisa Ly, shared her family’s traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Lisa’s family eats mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, veggies, turkey, glazed ham, dinner roll breads, stir fried noodles, fried rice, and salads, with pumpkin pie for dessert. She celebrates it with her family, aunts, uncles, and cousins. They celebrate it at her aunt’s house and everyone pitches in to make the food.
“The mashed potatoes and gravy are one of my favorites. I get to eat it once a year, at Thanksgiving, and it makes me feel at home,” Lisa said.
