Logan Aranda is a senior who is running for the crown of Mr. Cardinal. Logan is a loyal and fun person. He puts people ahead of himself and is there to talk to.

Raymond Iniguez: Name five words that best describe you and explain why.

Logan Aranda: Five words that best describe me are: Loyal. I am always faithful to the people in my life and any activity I commit to caring. When someone is down, I always try to check on them because I truly want my friends and family to do well. Loving. I show the support and love needed to push people beyond their limits. Thoughtful. I always think about others and put people ahead of myself to make sure they are in a good position. Kind. I am naturally caring and respectful to everyone I meet, even if we don’t know each other.

RI: What do you want to gain from this experience?

LA: What I hope to gain from this experience is more leadership skills. I want to build the confidence to stand on stage and express what matters regarding current events and everyday life. Ultimately I want to gain more experience so I can give back to the community that gave so much to me.

RI:  What emotions are you feeling ahead of the Mr. and Miss Cardinal event?

LA: My emotions coming into this are excitement, because I am just really excited for the event. I would also say I feel anxious because it is a big day for me, but I know my nerves will calm down as soon as I step foot on stage.

RI:  Why did you decide to run for Mr. Cardinal?

LA: I decided to run for Mr. Cardinal because I want to be a role model for kids who don’t have older brothers to look up to or anyone to guide them. I want to be that role model for anyone young or old. The youth can say that if they followed the path I was on, they could achieve success in any field they choose.

RI: What message would you want to give to your judges ahead of the event?

LA: If I could give a message to the judges, it would mainly be that I am very engaged with my community and a very hard worker who does what needs to be done. I am self-efficient enough to deliver a great event. I hope you enjoy it, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity.

RI: What has been one of your greatest achievements here at SBHS?

LA: I would say one of my greatest achievements at SBHS is, of course, graduating on time and being able to show that the sacrifices my parents made for me have been answered. Another great achievement has been making meaningful connections with people throughout my school years.

RI: Who would you thank if you win this event?

LA: If I won this event, I would, of course, thank the Mr. and Miss Cardinal coordinators and the judges for voting for me. I would also thank my family for pushing me so hard to do this, and my friends for supporting me even those who are also contestants. Lastly, I would thank Jeff Imbriani for being there and pushing me to my limits, as well as the school for standing behind me and supporting me.

RI: What is one of your favorite memories you’ve made with friends, and why was it your favorite?

LA:  One of my favorite memories I’ve made with friends happened here at SBHS. We were in silk screening class, and our favorite memory was making matching shirts to wear on graduation day to showcase our long-lasting friendship since freshman year.

RI: What type of person would your friends describe you as and why?

LA: My friends would describe me as loyal, funny, and caring. Over the years, we have built a great bond where we can truly rely on each other through any problems we are going through. We can freely express our feelings to one another without the fear of being laughed at or judged.

RI: What are your plans after high school? Please provide a high expectation and a low expectation.

LA:  My ultimate goal after high school is to continue my education and go to college to earn a degree in graphic production. One day, I hope to teach graphic arts and open up my own shop where I can help people learn how to design and print their own custom shirts. My lower expectation is that I will still go to college and get my degree, but I might end up stuck in a low-paying job that doesn’t fully reflect my hard work.

RI: What are you looking forward to during the Mr. and Miss Cardinal event?

LA: The thing I am looking forward to the most is winning as an underdog. I want to use this platform to show my deep appreciation for the school I attend and the community I grew up in. I am also excited to share my wisdom and experience with underclassmen and future Mr. and Miss Cardinal contestants

RI: What do you hope to get out of this entire experience?

LA: Through this experience, I hope to gain more confidence, leadership skills, and an outgoing personality so I can deliver speeches more comfortably. I also want to improve my public speaking and communication skills, while maintaining the strong bonds I have built with the other contestants during our rehearsals.
