The annual Mr. Cardinal City Pageant took place at the beautiful Sturges Center of Performing Arts on Saturday, April 7, 2018 and after a thorough and highly competitive round of events, Alfonso Sanchez was crowned the new Mr. Cardinal! Of course, Alfonso cannot perform his duties without his court. The 2018-2019 Mr. Cardinal Court is: Anthony Valencia, first runner-up; Omar Santana, second runner-up; and Bryan Rosales, Crown Ambassador, Mr. Congeniality, and People’s Choice. The crowning of the new Mr. Cardinal Court signals a new era descending upon Cardinal City.

The pageant included the sportswear event where the contestants showed off the club or sport in which they participate, the formal wear event where they are escorted on stage by a friend or a family member and show off their style, and concluded with the most difficult event of them all – the on-stage question event. All the contestants have to answer a question, which is randomly selected. In one of his last duties as the 2017-2018 Mr. Cardinal, Justin Mendoza read the number of the randomly selected contestants that was pulled out of the bowl that Miss Cardinal, Kimberly Leonardo, was holding.
