Junior Marina Torres was questioned on her perspective based on some challenges she may face undergoing her junior year.

Jasmin Buenrostro: Okay. They say junior year is the most important year. Does that make you nervous?
Marina Torres: It makes me super nervous knowing that this is the most important year and also the hardest.
JB: What are some of your academic weaknesses?
MT: One of my academic weaknesses is not getting to class on time.
JB: What are you going to try and do differently in order to get to class on time?
MT: Just go straight to class and not stop to talk to my friends
JB: What is one thing you fear that is school related?
MT: I’m really scared of the AP tests that I’m going to have to take. I feel like I’m not gonna be prepared for it.
JB: What are some of your accomplishments so far?
MT: A huge accomplishment of mine so far is not missing any credits to graduating.
JB: You’re close to graduating. How does that make you feel?
MT: It makes me feel good, but also sad because I like coming to school.
JB: What is something you are not prepared for this year?
MT: If the teachers are being extra hard on us since we’re not sophomores anymore.
JB: Have the teachers been hard on you guys yet? If so, how are you coping with it?
MT: No, I don’t feel like they’ve been hard on us yet.
JB: What’s one thing you will change that will hopefully affect you this year in a positive way?
MT: “I will start studying for my tests to get good grades and not to fail my finals.”
JB: What is a goal you have for yourself for this school year or semester?
MT: A goal I have for myself is not to fail any of my classes and get all my credits that I need.
JB: Do you plan on getting involved with the school in any way? This could involve sports, clubs, or anything else.
MT: Not that I know of right now, but maybe in the future I might join a sport.
JB: Are there any sports that you’ve been thinking of, or might have caught your attention?
MT: I’m really interested in tennis
JB: When you think back to freshman year, how much of you has changed?
MT: I still act the same from freshman year, but I probably pay more attention in class now.
JB: What advice would you give to a freshman?
MT: Take this school stuff serious and don’t take it for granted
