2018-2019 Mr. Cardinal Contestant 10: Alfonso Sanchez

How would you describe yourself?

Energetic, happy and someone who always puts a smile on everyone’s face.

Why did you join Mr. Cardinal?

My brother joined Mr. Cardinal five years ago and now we want to do it. I want to show the community what Mr. Cardinal is ALL about.

What has been your most memorable experience at SBHS?

Winning first place in the Latino History Bee after long hours of preparation.

What was your favorite event as a contestant?

My favorite event was being an usher at the California Theatre.

What would you offer to the program and how would you like to represent Cardinal City?

I would work with Jamie and maximize every event and increase the events.

If you had the power to change something in the school, what would you change?

I would want the school to make the students become more involved in the community and help out more.

What is your ambition in life?

I want to study politics and law or music and be a music teacher. I also want to change the world and for the better and be remembered in history.

As Mr. Cardinal, how are you planning on helping to change the perception of SBHS?

One way I would do this is by not being rude to anyone at the events I would attend as Mr. Cardinal. I also want to go to the areas that have a lot of homeless and try to help out. I want to show others that our generation is going to help fix the city.

How are you planning to use the crown?

I would use it to spread knowledge about what this city needs and try to meet those needs.

If you could change something about the world, what would you change?

The world would be a better place if so many people were less selfish.

Come out and watch Alfonso compete for the crown of Mr. Cardinal on April 7th at the Sturges Center! Doors open at 5 pm and the show begins at 6 pm!
