I asked Michael Tritt about his senior year and his high school experience.
Roberto Castillo: What’s your favorite movie and why is it your favorite movie?
Michael Tritt: One of my favorite movies has to be Harry Potter. My reason is stupid movies, especially for the year it came out.
RC: Okay, what’s your favorite sport and what do you like about it?
MT: My favorite sport is Arctic football, just because it gets intriguing and exciting.
RC: What advice would you give to a freshman who wants to be successful?
MT: Advice that I would give to a freshman who is trying to become successful in high school would be not to hang out with the wrong crowd. Always try and stay after school and start to get yourself out there.
RC: What’s something you plan on doing after you graduate?
MT: What I plan on doing after I graduate is go into the United States Air Force.
RC: Okay, what are you going to miss about school when you graduate? And why?
MT: Seeing people that I had high school with.
RC:What has been the hardest school year and why?
MT: Definitely my junior year, I had a lot of hard classes. It was very hectic compared to my last two years, my freshman and my sophomore, because it was a lot of work.
RC: What senior activity are you most excited about, and why?
MT: Probably grad night, because Disneyland is not still open until that late.
RC: How would you describe your personal growth over the past four years?
MT: I definitely grew towards myjunior year, because I became more responsible and kind of more respectful, because I wasn’t very respectful my freshman year.
RC: What’s something you wish you had known as a freshman and why?
MT: That high school goes by quickly.
RC: What has been your favorite memory over the past four years?
MT: Probably joining ROTC with my friends.
RC: Who has been your favorite high school teacher and why?
MT : Mr. McDonough because he’s just a laid back teacher, and he gives great advice.
RC: What’s something you have not liked about high school?
MT: Just the community that we have at our school.
RC: What do you feel is one of your greatest strengths?
MT: Definitely helping people and giving them advice.
RC: What is the biggest challenge facing young people today, in your opinion?
MT: I think it’s technology, or not technology, but social media, because they’re constantly worried about that, instead of things that they should be worried about, like school.
RC: If you could choose between $1 million a trip around the world or to live to 100, which would you choose and why?
MT: If I were to pick one of those, it would definitely be the million dollars, because living to 100 you’re just going to be old and bored. A trip around the world is all right, when you have the money, you could just go get those trips. There’s just no fun in having that.
RC: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
MT: Japan. I’ve always dreamed about going there, and I hope I do.
RC: How do you handle disappointment?
MT: I do get frustrated and honestly, I just get mad at myself.
RC: If you could, get one message up to the world, what would it be?
MT: Be yourself.
