Quenching thirst: refreshing drink reviews

What’s your favorite summer drink? I’d usually say water, but something in this heat is making me want to switch it up.

Today, I will be reviewing four drinks: water, lemonade, cranberry juice, and soda. Though it’s not a wide variety of drinks, they’re some of the most popular ones during summer.

As we all know, water is calorie-free and instantly refreshes you. A can of Squirt soda or any type of soda contains 170 calories or more, which is not always desired.

A cup of cranberry juice contains 45-60 calories, but let it be known you do have to add some water so it’s not as bitter. Last but not least, homemade lemonade, to be honest, the flavor issue was my fault during the process of making it.

Now let’s begin the real review.

After drinking the entire bottle of water I felt like a man who had been lost in a desert dying of thirst. It was good but could’ve been better if it was cold. Besides that it was really good, 8/10! Next, lemonade, mind you, it  was homemade and rushed so it was still a bit bitter and somehow had too much sugar. Drink making is not for me, since the bitterness disrupted everything and made my stomach hurt I give it a 4/10. Then my favorite drink, cranberry juice. I recommend adding water and a few ice cubes to dilute that concentrate or it will also taste bitter. I didn’t add water when I tried it though so it just made my throat really dry and dehydrated me, 2/10. Lastly, we got Squirt Soda. It was not cold enough so when the first sip hit I felt like I was doing the Sprite challenge. It’s like I drowned. I love soda though so I had to finish it, 7/10.

My final ratings:

In the end, I do not recommend attempting to chug four drinks in the span of 2 minutes. Anyway, cranberry juice is really good, make sure y’all try it. Just grab yourself a cold soda this summer and you’re good to go. Have an amazing summer!
