Strawberry cake mix, white chocolate chips, and frosting sounds like a dream. You’d expect it to be an amazing combination but some things are too good to be true.

I tried the viral Strawberry Crunch Cookie, it wasn’t exactly what I thought it ought to be. I was definitely underwhelmed. The recipe was modified by multiple creators on TikTok. I’m not sure who started the trend but I got the recipe from a girl on TikTok. There are a variety of ways people have made these cookies. The recipe I followed to make the cookies consisted of strawberry cake mix, white chocolate chips, two eggs, and any ⅓ of vegetable oil. On top of the cookies I was told to drizzle frosting on the cookies. Also sprinkle crushed up strawberry and vanilla wafer cookies on top.

The cookie wasn’t very hard to make, the directions are fairly simple. But the toppings were kind of messy to deal with, so you should be careful when putting them on the cookie. One of my favorite things about the cookie was the texture the wafer added to the cookie. It complimented the cookie really well. I didn’t like that it wasn’t as moist as other cookies. I think the cookie was overhyped. I think the wafer almost overpowered the cookie itself. I wanted to taste the strawberry flavor but I think it got lost in the mix.

I had my hopes too high and ended up getting disappointed. I would rate this recipe 3 out of 5 stars. It was good but I don’t think I’ll make it again. The strawberry crunch cookie most definitely did not live up to its name.
