What past experiences made you the person you are today and why?
One thing I always say is that my parents haven’t graduated. Instead of following their footsteps. I decided to be better than them and have them as an example to not do those things they did. It helped me have better dreams and want to achieve more.
What is something that you would want to change about the world?
I would change the prices of anything. I feel bad for people who aren’t able to support themselves. My grandma is low income and grew up in the “hood” and now that prices are
higher everything is harder to support her needs like, food, rent, and gas.
Who was your biggest role model growing up and why did you choose that person?
My biggest role model is my grandma. I used to live together when my mom and dad split up. I would still visit her every weekend and I do till this day. My grandma isn’t successful and rich. She is still an inspiration to me because she fought hard for family and she is a good person. She struggled so much but still makes the best out of everything. I will always love my grandma and I’ll always visit her no matter how far she is. She is so supportive of me, her favorite grandchild.
What is something that you will tell your younger self?
Something that I would tell my younger self is that not to be hard-headed. I was only looking at one thing, meaning I wanted to go into USC really badly and I wanted that ever since I was little. I wish that I wasn’t so focused on one thing and I feel that it brings down everything else, meaning like if I don’t, I’m going to be very sad so I need to have more options and be open to new things.
Looking back at the past, is there anything you would want to change and why?
I feel that I wouldn’t change anything because bad days are always going to happen and it makes me the person I am today. I also feel that bad things happen for a reason even if it’s bad or good. I like to remember that everything will be okay.
What do you feel is one of your biggest strengths
One of my biggest strengths is being who I am today. I believe that no matter who the person is I will always stay true to myself no matter what. I try not to be someone else or be closed off to someone. I want to show them the person I am and not to be embarrassed of who I am.
How do you handle disappointment:
I like to re-think the situation and hear the other person’s side. I also like to be by myself and listen to music.
