Jasmine Estrada is a senior at SBHS. She is a very kind and nice person, but she is also very shy before you get to know her. She is also very athletic. She is a varsity player for the volleyball team and is also on color guard.
Trinity Ramirez: How would your friends or family members describe you and why?
Jasmine Estrada: They would probably say I’m a very organized person because I can’t stand unorganized things or that I adapt to things very quickly and that I worry about things too much, especially about the future instead of what’s happening in the present.
TR: What’s your most favorite thing about yourself?
JE: I like that I’m a very determined and dedicated person. When I want to get something done, I will get it done even if it takes awhile but it takes a lot of dedication.
TR: Who is someone you look up to and why?
JE: I look up to my mother, not just because of your work or anything, just because of how she is emotionally and mentally. She is very strong when it comes to her emotions because she has gone through a lot of hard situations and she has always been able to handle her emotions. She always has a lot of right answers to a lot of things and that’s why I look up to her and not only because of the way she works, but the way she has always taken care of herself and has dealt with hardship and her determination.
TR:What’s some advice you would tell a freshman and why?
JE: Definitely do not fall behind on grades. Even though it’s your freshman year, it does not matter. Even though they say it doesn’t matter, it will have an effect on you. I recommend having a really good freshman year, a strong start, and that you have a better startup for the rest of your high school years and that you finish strong.
TR: If there was anything in the world what would you be and why?
JE: I would want to be a veterinarian cause that’s the only job I really just want and have wanted since I was super young. That’s all I really want to be and I can’t think of myself or see myself as anything else other than that.
TR: So you like taking care of animals?
JE: Yeah I like taking care of animals. I like seeing them do well. I like to see the people really happy cause there’s times that I’ve had pets and I would obviously be sad if they’re not doing well. But then the veterinarians fix it and then your mood changes. I just love to feel the happiness of my pet doing well so I want to make other people and the pets do a lot better.
TR: Who’s your biggest role model while growing up?
JE: My grandma because even though my mom is my number one, my grandma is like a second mom to me. My father isn’t, like, outta my life, but he’s just never been a big part of my life. So my grandma has always taken a step to help my mom take care of me and my sister cause my mom would work and we would have school so my grandma would take us to school and she would take care of us when my mom couldn’t. So she would feed us and check up on us. That’s why I chose my grandma as my role model because she’s a loving and caring lady and she just dedicates herself to what she loves.
