Lisa Morfin is a theatre stage manager, on the School Site Council, and is the Yearbook editor-in-chief. She is also competing for Miss Cardinal.
Roberto Moz: If you could advise a girl or boy what would it be?
Lisa Morfin: About school or..?
RM: It can be anything.
LM: I advise them to respect themselves and try in school.
RM: How do you think social media affects you or your family?
LM: Well, I don’t post much on social media. A couple of stories here and there but yeah, my close friends just have, like, what I’ve done over the weekend, and my family doesn’t care too much for it. So I don’t feel it has a big impact.
RM: Okay, How do you handle disappointment?
LM: So well, it depends on what I’m disappointed about. I usually go to my parents and I will let them know and, depending on what it is, they give me advice.
RM: What is your favorite memory of San Bernardino High School?
LM: Oh, last year, my junior year I came here and I didn’t do much until the second semester started. I joined theatre.
RM: Did you like it?
LM: Oh yeah! It’s pretty fun.
RM: What do you do in theatre?
LM: Right now I’ve been promoted to stage manager because last semester I was assistant stage manager.
RM: Do you like being a stage manager?
LM: So far it’s kind of hectic but I’m getting the hang of it. So I’m pretty sure I like it.
RM: If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
LM: I would say some really beautiful places in Mexico because I haven’t been anywhere deep in Mexico.
RM: What is the biggest regret that you have in your life right now?
LM: My biggest regret is not doing activities in my previous high school years.
RM: Why?
LM: Because I feel like I should have done more, and in my old school,
I definitely could have done more. I reached out to other students who I know were personally doing well.
RM: Why did you decide to compete in Miss Cardinal?
LM: My dad competed in 2007, and he encouraged me to compete. Some contestants, Rachelle and Jamie, also reached out to me and encouraged me to try it.
RM: Are you afraid of the other contestants?
LM: No, not like I’m confident or anything.
RM: If you could be any person in history, who would it be and why?
LM: If I could meet or be, I would say Theodore Roosevelt because he did accomplish a lot. And he’s preserved a lot of our natural areas that we are able to visit today. And he’s really cleaned up New York on his time.
RM: Is there anything you want to say to the other contestants?
LM: Yeah, actually I really hope to win titles. And, like, one of them to be successful in this.
